Dora Jane Edwards King

Dora Jane Edwards King entered in the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Jane was born on February 14, 1934 in Bladenboro, NC to Jetter Carl and Celia Hester Edwards. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Wilfred Harlan King; brothers, Samuel, Carl, and Ted (Leon) Edwards; and sisters, Carolyn Causey and Ernestine Fields. She is survived by daughters, Deborah Ferrell and husband Michael, Carla Berrier and husband Randy, and Angela Jones and husband Ray; son, Chris King and husband Doug Vonderlippe; grandchildren, Brinley Christner and husband Jeff, Kristen Ralls and husband Brett, Tyler Berrier and wife Kara, Janie Jones and wife Brittany, John Jones, Gabrielle Vonderlippe, and Grayson Vonderlippe; 7 great-grandchildren, Jackson Ralls, Elle Berrier, Blake Berrier, Jonah Christner, Dylan Ralls, Olivia Whitt, and Brady Christner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jane enjoyed working in her yard with flowers, going to North Myrtle Beach, Silver Sneakers at the YMCA and attending her beloved Heidelberg church. Jane was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ her entire life. She loved Heidelberg Church and all her friends there, they were her extended family. Jane had a strong sense of family that she instilled in younger generations. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grand and great-grandchildren and loved time spent during holidays at the beach, in the backyard or anywhere they were. Jane retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries in 1999, after 34 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Heidelberg United Church of Christ with Rev. Chesley Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Piedmont for their excellent care over the past 6 months. The family would also like to thank her caregivers, Lisa Stabe, Tina Finney, and Alice Sherman.
