Gladys Lee McGill Little

Gladys McGill Little, born June 2, 1943, peacefully departed this life on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved daughter of the late Rosa Reid McGill and Fitzhugh McGill Sr. and was the ninth child of their union. Gladys was educated in the Cherokee County public school system. She served as a devoted homemaker and a faithful member of Brown New Calvary Baptist Church. She was also a proud attendee of Davidson County Senior Services. Gladys enjoyed spending time with family and friends and found joy in simple pleasures. She loved shopping at Walmart, Roses, It’s Fashion, Cato, and Peebles, and she especially enjoyed buffet-style dining. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and several cherished siblings: James McGill (Mary), TG McGill (Dora), Fitzhugh McGill Jr., Joe Dean McGill, Lula Mae Jeffries (Elmer Sr.), Ethel Lois Rice (TJ), Inez Dawkins (Lyman Sr.), and Valerie Smith (Gilbert Sr.); as well as brothers-in-law Clayton Gillespie, Walter “Jim” Little, James Franklin Little Jr., and John Hood Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 56 years, Robert Lee Little Sr.; her loving son, Robert Little Jr. (Pamela); and her treasured grandchildren, Bryana and Michael Little (Crystal). She was also the proud great-grandmother of Jayden, Carter, and Kyrie Little. She shared a special bond with someone she loved like a daughter, Nita Little. Gladys is also survived by her sister, Rosetta Gillespie, and her brother, Johnny McGill (Wanda); sisters-in-law Mae Cole, Barbara Jean Hood, Christine Lindsey (James), Dorothy Little, Evelyn Blakeney, Jacqueline Little, and Priscilla Little; close friends Jackie Bugsby, Betty Jean Houey, Gloria Graham, and Ruby Billie; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Davidson County and Cornelia Broadie for the excellent care, compassion, and support provided to our loved one. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
